Middletown’s Best Cupcakes Head to Hartford For The MS Taste Of Hope

August 31, 2015

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter, is inviting the community of Middletown to join the NoRA Cupcake Company at the 2015 MS Taste of Hope in Hartford.

The Society is pleased to have NoRA’s onboard once again for the tasting event this year, especially after they became so involved with the Connecticut Chapter’s Bike MS event in June. The cupcake shop worked with one of the ride’s top fundraisers, Mike Stacy of WRCH Lite 100.5, to develop the ‘Banana Bliss’ cupcake, with partial proceeds donated to Stacy’s Banana Bike team. The shop was also on-site at the bike event, giving our free mini cupcakes to event participants after the ride.

The MS Taste of Hope offers a chance to discover new favorite places to dine, and revisit a few of your favorites, by sampling the best cuisine and cocktails Connecticut has to offer. Grab your friends and share the experience of sampling unlimited culinary creations and palate-pleasing libations as you sway to the music and participate in a great teacup drawing – all while supporting the fight against MS!

The event will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24, at The Society Room in Hartford. Another event will occur Thursday, Sept. 17, at Anthony’s Ocean View in New Haven. Hundreds of guests are expected to attend the two events, both occurring this September.

More than 6,500 Connecticut residents live with multiple sclerosis, a potentially debilitating disease for which there is no cure. Funds raised by the chapter through events, such as MS Taste of Hope, fund scientific research and provide for the continuation of vital programs and services offered by the chapter to people in the state diagnosed with MS.

To date, other participating restaurants and food vendors include Besito Mexican, Broad Brook Brewing Company, City Steam Brewery, Dish Restaurant, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, On 20, Salute Restaurant, The Society Room, Sorella, Stew Leonard’s Wines, Ted’s Montana Grill, Thomas Hooker Brewing Company, Trimino, Trumbull Kitchen, Westford Hill Distillers, Willimantic Brewing Co. and Winam Wines, LLC.

Hartford’s 102.9 The Whale is a proud media sponsor of the Hartford MS Taste of Hope, and will be on-site at The Society Room with music, giveaways and more. Tune in to this sponsoring station for ticket giveaways in the weeks leading up to the event. The Hartford Courant is also a proud sponsor for this event.

Tickets are $50 per person online at ctfightsMS.org or over the phone at 860.913.2550. Sponsorship opportunities including ticket packages are also available.

About the Connecticut-Rhode Island Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society

The Connecticut Chapter strives to provide knowledge and assistance to help people with MS and their families maintain the highest possible quality of life. These goals are achieved through vital national and local programs.

About Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are leading to better understanding and moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with at least two to three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 2.3 million people worldwide.
