    Employment Matters: Managing MS in the Workplace

    Join us for Employment Matters, a 5-week web training and tele-discussion series. As a complex and unpredictable disease, MS can have varying effects on a person's ability to work. Trying to manage MS on the job can be challenging for many. Join us for an open discussion where other members can ask questions and share what has worked for them. Each group will start with a web-based video presentation on the topic. This program is only for individuals with MS who are currently employed.

    Operation Job Match

    Operation Job Match (OJM) is the chapter’s employment initiative serving people who live with MS as well as people who live with other adult-onset physical disabilities. The objective of OJM is to enable people with disabilities to make career decisions based on accurate information. We can help you make decisions about returning to the workforce, retaining your current employment, or moving on to another job or career.

    This video is a resource for employers, featuring discussions about multiple sclerosis in the workplace.

  7. TELEPHONE Employment

    Ask the Employment Specialist: Telephone Q&A Sessions

    Quarterly regional employment calls that allow individuals to submit employment-related questions in advance and obtain individualized answers from National MS Society employment specialists. The next calls will take place May 14, 2014 and August 13, 2014. Registration is now open for the May call.

    Listen to recordings from Teleconference Programs put on throughout the year. Topics from this employment-focused series include Maintaining Cognitive and Emotional Health While Unemployed, Federal Hiring Initiatives for People with Disabilities, Home Based Employment: What You Need to Know, and Disability Application Secrets.

  9. VIDEO Employment

    Career Crossroads

    This video program focuses on the legal rights of employees with MS and examines ways to mitigate the effects of MS on work performance. A self-study companion workbook is also available.

  10. IN PERSON Employment

    In-service trainings for vocational rehabilitation staff

    To strengthen relationship with state VR agencies, in-service opportunities available to educate vocational rehabiltation counselors on MS, employment concerns of people with MS and adult-onset and/or hidden disabilities, and services/resources available from the NMSS.
