Readathon - National Multiple Sclerosis Society

Skip to navigation Skip to content

Readathon is an educational and fundraising program created by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to encourage reading, promote community involvement, raise disability awareness, and aid in the fight against multiple sclerosis.

The Readathon program often begins with an in-school assembly about multiple sclerosis and disability awareness. The program encourages students to get sponsors and track their reading for a designated month.  Once the month of reading is over, both students and schools are eligible for prizes.

Each student who completes Readathon will receive a coupon sheet and a certificate in recognition of their efforts.  Trophies will be awarded to the reader who tracks the most pages, the reader who tracks the most books, and the top fundraiser in each school.  Students who raise $500 or more will receive a "500 Club" trophy and an invitation to our MVP Night at a Phillies game this summer.
