Florida Advocacy Position Papers
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Florida Chapters, urge the Legislature to pass legislation to Expand Medicaid to ensure that all qualified Floridians have access to quality, affordable and comprehensive health care.
Florida has the second highest number of uninsured, nearly 25 percent of our population. Leveraging federal dollars to provide health insurance to low-income Floridians is a smart investment that could provide up to 90,000 Floridians, including people with MS, affordable, comprehensive coverage.
The National MS Society, Florida Chapters, support HB 751, SB 70 and Senate PCB 7028, the “Florida Telemedicine Act” to ensure quality and affordable access to health care services for Floridians living with multiple sclerosis.
Increased access to telemedicine services can increase the effectiveness of patients’ management of chronic diseases, like MS, thereby improving patient outcomes.
