    This nationwide program is comprised of a range of initiatives that support independence, safety, health and quality of life for people living with MS. This program offers guidance and resources to help contain the financial impact of MS.

    Self Reliance

    Self Reliance, Inc. Center for Independent Living (CIL) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization established in 1978. Its mission is to promote independence through empowering persons with disabilities and improving the communities in which we live. Self Reliance is a cross disability agency providing services to both children and adults with disabilities (regardless of age and type of disability) to identify and overcome barriers to independence in their lives.

    Financial Assistance

    The Mid Florida Chapter offers limited financial assistance to those who have been diagnosed with MS and meet certain criteria. We realize people living with MS are often faced with increased financial challenges due to medical treatments, medication costs and, at times, restricted income.

  7. IN PERSON Financial Assistance

    Equipment Loan Closet

    If you have MS and need medical equipment or bathroom safety items that are not adequately covered by insurance, the Chapter may be able to help. We offer items available for loan from our loan closet; financial assistance for repairs; new purchases and modifications to your home or vehicle; and referrals to durable medical equipment vendors.
