  2. TELEPHONE Complementary and Alternative Medicines

    Southeast Region Teleconference: Alternative Therapies in MS

    Teleconferences are designed for people to listen and learn about MS-related topics from home. Alternative therapies are difficult to define and can include anything from drugs and diet to food supplements, mental exercises and lifestyle changes. This teleconference will help identify and discuss alternative options.

    Day of Discovery

    Day of Discovery is a day for people with MS and their families and caregivers to discover new information about MS, learn about resources and products available in their community and enjoy a fun day together at SeaWorld. The next Day of Discovery will take place on December 6, 2014. Registration will open on November 3.

    MS Step UP

    MS Step UP is a partnership between the Mid Florida Chapter at the University of South Florida School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences. This program provides a scholarship and training for physical therapy students who will specialize in treating people with MS.

    Care Management

    Care management services assist people with MS in maintaining their independence as long as possible.

    Newly Diagnosed Outreach

    Newly diagnosed outreach involves staff or trained volunteers making contact with people who have recently been diagnosed with MS to share information about the disease and ways to engage with the Society.

    Live Fully, Live Well

    Managing your health and wellness is an integral part of "living well" with MS. Live Fully, Live Well is a comprehensive wellness program from the National MS Society and Can Do MS, designed for people living with MS and their support partners. Live Fully, Live Well covers topics affecting the whole family living with MS in order to strengthen relationships, increase understanding and promote improved health and quality of life.
