    Overcoming Cognitive Challenges

    Memory problems, difficulty concentrating and slowness in processing information are all cognitive challenges associated with MS. In this teleconference participants will learn about the role of cognition in MS as well as information on cognitive rehabilitation, and tips to help manage cognitive symptoms.     Alternative Therapies in MS

    Alternative therapies are difficult to define and can include anything from drugs and diet to food supplements, mental exercises and life-style changes. This teleconference will help identify and discuss alternative options. Speaker: Sibyl E. Wray, MD

    The Norton Neuroscience Institute Resource Centers have created monthly classes that will help individuals with chronic neurological conditions minimize the stress of daily living by providing insight, tips and educational workshops to address a variety of life skills.

    MS 101

    The MS 101 workshop provides information about MS and teaches strategies to successfully manage MS and ways to cope with the emotional and physical aspects of the disease. This program is offered quarterly. It is most beneficial for individuals diagnosed with MS within the past two years. Family members and friends are welcome. No children are permitted.

    Lending Library

    In support of our mission, we provide free access to accurate, current, and comprehensive information to people with MS, family members, caregivers and health professionals through the South East Regional Lending Library. Books, DVDs, and CDs are available on a variety of topics including symptom management, emotional health, exercise, family support, disease information, and more.

  10. ONLINE Everyday Matters

    Everyday Matters

    Everyone has their own idea of their best life. For people living with multiple sclerosis, the idea of that “best life” can change due to the challenges of having a chronic, unpredictable and lifelong disease. The National MS Society’s Everyday Matters, supported by Genzyme, a Sanofi company, was an interactive national project that uncovered stories of real people facing the everyday challenges that MS can bring on the path to one’s best life.
