The Society offers many programs and services to help people affected by MS live their best lives. Find resources in your area to learn, connect, and get support.

  1. ONLINE Financial Assistance

    Financial Assistance Programs

    This nationwide program is comprised of a range of initiatives that support independence, safety, health and quality of life for people living with MS. This program offers guidance and resources to help contain the financial impact of MS.

  2. ONLINE Financial Assistance


    The Society’s Scholarship Program helps highly qualified students who have been diagnosed with MS, or who have a parent with MS, achieve their dreams of going to college.

    Veterans with Multiple Sclerosis

    The National MS Society is collaborating with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs MS Centers of Excellence to support improved care and support services for veterans with multiple sclerosis and their families.

    Financial Assistance - Michigan Residents Only

    The National MS Society, Michigan Chapter develops, delivers and leverages resources to enhance care for people with MS and the quality of life for those affected by the disease. Within the Financial Assistance program, we focus our efforts to minimize the financial impact of MS on individuals and families in Michigan. We hope to enhance the quality of life and help individuals with MS achieve their highest level of independence.

    To and from medical and select agency appointments.

  6. TELEPHONE Financial Assistance

    Home Care - Michigan Residents Only

    Short-term personal care and chore services by licensed agencies. This service offers assistance in the home with tasks that individuals living with MS are having difficulty completing (meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, bathing, and dressing).

    Respite Care - Michigan Residents Only

    Care when the usual caregiver is temporarily unavailable because of travel, illness or other demands.

  8. TELEPHONE Financial Assistance

    Short-term Counseling - Michigan Residents Only

    Counseling for those facing unexpected challenges as a result of their MS. Limited counseling services are available through in-person and telephone sessions.

    Medical Equipment - Michigan Residents Only

    The purchase or repair of a variety of equipment including wheelchairs, walkers, scooters and bathroom equipment.

  10. TELEPHONE Financial Assistance

    Loan Closet

    Program that provides short-term and long-term loans on durable medical equipment. (Only SE Michigan at this time)

The National MS Society, Michigan Chapter supports a wide range of programs and services designed to assist people with MS to live more productive lives. These programs are developed in direct response to needs expressed by our members.
