The National MS Society mobilizes people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of everyone affected by MS. The Upper Midwest Chapter Marketing and Communications Department seeks an Outreach and Awareness Intern based in our Minneapolis office.
Marketing and Public Relations
Minimum 15 hours per week
November 2014 – March 2015, start/end dates flexible
The position is responsible for assisting with the creation and execution of an MS Awareness Week campaign, including volunteer-led events throughout the chapter area; compiling and distributing Walk MS ambassador kits; and assisting with the creation of marketing pieces and corresponding Web and social media work. The position also supports communications duties, as related to a variety of print and online materials, and will have the opportunity to collaborate on other marketing, public relations and design projects as desired. Interns leave with a valuable experience for resumes and a professional portfolio.
College junior or senior majoring in an applicable field, fluent in Microsoft office applications. Knowledge of AP style is preferred.
The internship is unpaid. If the selected intern’s school has a credit program or offers work-study funds for internships, the Society will work with the intern and school to meet qualifying site requirements for those programs where possible.
