The keynote speaker is Julie Roberts
, a country music singer who lives with MS. Julie Roberts lends her voice to a cause that personally touches her. Julie was on the road touring her initial record when she was diagnosed with MS in 2005. She didn’t reveal she was battling the debilitating disease until 2011 but now shares her story that has given her strength to face her past and record music that is a reflection of her life.
Woman of Courage
The heart of the luncheon will be honoring our Woman of Courage. The Woman of Courage award recognizes a woman who handles the daily challenges that multiple sclerosis can present to an individual and their family. Whether she is living with MS, or is the caregiver to a family member with MS, the Woman of Courage Recipient demonstrates dignity, grace, strength, compassion and creativity in her everyday life. Our Woman of Courage is a role model for other women in our community on how to live your life to the fullest while balancing work, family and the challenges that come along the way.
Why should women get involved with this event?
Did you know that three-quarters of the people living with MS are women? Women are also the ones who often provide care for their loved ones living with MS. If you are a woman interested in meeting other women who are taking the lead to change the face of MS, this luncheon is for you!
Ask from the Heart
An important aspect of the luncheon will be raising funds for programs and services for people living with MS.
Women throughout the St. Louis area are invited to join the movement, supporting amazing women that have been affected by MS through a premier fundraising luncheon. The funds raised by this luncheon support programs and services for more than 7,500 people in the Gateway Area affected by MS and contribute to research efforts that will one day lead to a world free of MS.
