National MS Society Joins P&A and the South Carolina DisAbility Voting Coalition in celebrating the release of a set of three new voting rights videos

SC Protection and Advocacy and The South Carolina DisAbility Voting Coalition recently released three new informational videos about voting aimed at increasing voting participation by people affected by disabilities. The national voter turnout rate at the polls for people with disabilities is 5.7 percent lower than for those without disabilities. If people with disabilities voted at the same turnout rate as those without a disability, there would be 3 million more voters.

Each video addresses a different voting topic including how to register to vote, the different ways a person with a disability can vote, and accessibility challenges that may exist at polling places. MS Activist Milena Herring provided leadership in planning the storyboards, writing the scripts, planning the scenes, casting the roles, and finally, appearing in the videos. MS Activist Robert Taylor stars in the videos and raises awareness about MS as well as about voting.
