    Young Professionals: Modern Society

    Modern Society

    Modern Society is an enthusiastic group of young professionals in the Triangle NC community committed to volunteering their time, talents and energy to promote MS awareness through various volunteer activities and fundraising events. Join to meet new people, network, attend great events and, most importantly, support the chapter’s comprehensive programs and support services for people living with MS and their families.

    Join us for Modern Society Monday's the first Monday of every month in two locations:

    Raleigh: 6:30 pm at Tyler's Taproom, 18 Seaboard Ave. #150, Raleigh, NC 27604

    Durham: 7:00 pm at Tyler's Taproom, 324 Blackwell St. #400, Durham, NC 27701

    Volunteer at one of our annual fundraising events, like Walk MS, Bike MS, or Challenge Walk MS, doing one of hundreds of jobs. We need everthing from popping tents and serving pizza to being a lifeguard and running a rest stop.

    What a difference a day makes! The Service Projects program is a volunteer-driven initiative being piloted in Raleigh, Charlotte, Asheville/Hendersonville, Greensboro and Columbia, SC. Year-round teams of volunteers are available to complete projects for families living with multiple sclerosis.

  14. Volunteerism

    Movement Ambassador

    Do you want others to know more about MS? 

    Do you enjoy connecting with people?

    Do you want to take an active leadership role with the Chapter? 

    Movement Ambassadors are dedicated volunteers who raise awareness about MS and promote the Chapter’s programs, services, advocacy and fundraising initiatives.  These volunteer educate, engage and encourage others to join the MS Movement.  

    Movement Ambassadors may represent the Chapter by:

    • Manning information tables at Health Fairs or Awareness events
    • Attending Do It Yourself Fundraisers or other events
    • Serving as hosts for Meetings or Programs
    • Advocating for people living with MS before town councils, disability groups and coalition meetings
    • Telling your story to local media
    • Becoming a Talk MS Speaker and making presentations to community groups

    Internship Opportunities

    The Greater Carolinas Chapter is looking for qualified full or part time college students. Internships are available in a variety of fields. Positions are unpaid, but the experience will be invaluable!  Academic credit/community service credit is available.
