Journey Camp is an exciting weekend recreational experience for children or teens who have a parent living with MS. This camp educates children about MS while having fun. The activities at camp may include arts and crafts, horseback riding, fishing, canoeing, outdoor cooking, relay races, challenge course, zip-lining, swimming, as well as educational games and activities to help explain MS. This is a perfect opportunity for parents to help their children learn about the disease and have their questions answered by trained staff. Children should be of an age and ability to be aware of their parent’s diagnoses and learn about MS. We suggest between 9-16 years old. Young adults (18+) may apply to volunteer as counselors.
Held in the summe or fallr, traveling to a different location within our region each year. In 2016, Journey Camp will be at Camp Summit in Paradise, TX.
There is no charge to attend this camp but everyone is responsible for their own transportation. Space is limited.
