Bike MS: East End Ride Volunteer Opportunities

SET- UP CREW:
Arrive by 6:00 a.m. to set-up tables, chairs, signage, displays, etc. Bring work gloves! (Lifting required)
Join us bright and early Saturday morning at the Elks Lodge in Southampton and greet our cyclists, collect their pledge forms and donations. Arrival time: 7:00 a.m.
SAG (Support & Gear Vehicle):
SAG drivers patrol the route providing assistance to ensure cyclist safety and assist in case of fatigue or bike breakdowns (must be 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license and insurance). Arrival time: 8:00 a.m.
Help cyclists prepare for the ride and visit rest stops throughout the route to provide assistance as needed. (Please provide own tools, small repair kit provided) Arrival time: 8:00 a.m.
To help ensure cyclist safety and route efficiency, riding marshals will lead/sweep the route (basic bike repair skills needed). Arrival time: 8:00 a.m.
HAM RADIO OPERATORS:
Licensed Amateur Radio Operators provide communication throughout the entire tour. They are responsible for communicating questions, updates and problems to key staff members. Arrival time: 8:00 a.m.
REST STOP SUPPORT:
Volunteers will set up the rest stop area, distribute food and beverages to the riders and monitor the activities at the stop. All of the Bike MS rest stops are encouraged to have a theme (luau, 50's aquatic, etc.) get a group of people together and make your rest stop a fun place to be. Arrival time: 8:30 a.m.
FINISH LINE GREETER:
Volunteers will cheer riders on as they cross the finish line and hand out finish line medals. Arrival time: 10:30 a.m.
Move barricades, take down signs, pack event trucks and more. Please note heavy lifting (20-50 lbs) is required. Arrival time: 10:30 a.m.
Face Painting, cheerleading teams, clowns, etc....
Licensed Massage Therapists provide massages for cyclists at the finish line. Arrival time: 10:30 a.m.
