The Society offers many programs and services to help people affected by MS live their best lives. Find resources in your area to learn, connect, and get support.

  1. IN PERSON Support and Self Help Groups

    Creative Artists with MS

    A forum for individuals to discuss the relationship between art, music and/or writing and living with MS.

  2. ONLINE Emotional Health

    Plaintalk—A Booklet about MS for Families (.pdf)

  3. ONLINE Employment

    Practical tips for Managing Challenging MS Symptoms on the Job

    MS specialists will share practical ways to manage fatigue and cognitive dysfunction, two of the most common and difficult symptoms people living with MS experience at work.

  6. IN PERSON Recreation

    Adult Day

    The Adult Day Program is designed to promote participation in social, educational, fitness and recreational activities in a four hour program. Adult Day sessions will begin in October. Registration opens in September.

  7. IN PERSON Financial Assistance

    Respite Care

    This program provides assistance with care when the usual caregiver is temporarily unavailable because of travel, illness or other demands. The Chapter offers up to 100 hours of home-based care through home health aides. This program is not available for people with Medicaid since it is a covered service.

  8. IN PERSON Support and Self Help Groups

    NYC-SNY Chapter Support Group Program

    Professionally led support groups offered in-person and via conference call. The Spring Support Group Semester concluded July 2014. Fall semester groups begin in October, 2014. Registration and group listings for the upcoming Fall Semester will be available as of September 15, 2014. Please visit us again for specific group information and dates. Note: Registration is open for ongoing support groups that are also listed on this page.

  9. VIDEO Treating MS

    Treatment Options and Research Advances in Progressive MS (video)

    If you have a progressive form of MS, you undoubtedly are awaiting treatment options and research advances. Joining us as we discuss this topic with Dr. Benjamin Segal. Dr. Segal directs the Multiple Sclerosis Center, and is a professor of neurology at the University of Michigan's Holtom-Garrett Neuroimmunology Program.

    Partnership for Prescription Assistance New York

    PPARNY is a program that connects qualified, low-income people with discount prescription drugs, direct from the pharmaceutical manufacturer. PPARNY offers a single point of access to public and private patient assistance programs, including more than 150 programs offered by pharmaceutical companies.
