The Women on the Move Luncheon is a nationwide educational and fundraising event that helps to increase public awareness of MS and the National MS Society while acknowledging and encouraging the advancement of women philanthropists. Women-owned businesses are encouraged to join the movement toward a world free of MS. Women are diagnosed with MS nearly three times more than men. Funds raised from the event support the hundreds of annual programs and services for thousands of people living with MS. These funds also contribute to national MS research for the cause, prevention and cure of MS.

Thank you to the following sponsors:

She is a passionate fundraiser and has been active with the chapter since 2004 when she formed The 109 Bombers team for Walk MS and Bike MS and joined the Manhattan Society. Liz holds a B.S. in Business Management and Administration from Manhattan College.  She resides in Larchmont, NY with her boyfriend Billy and part-time with his two children, CJ and Timothy.

Acorda Therapeutics Mission Spotlight Award Recipient Ronda Giangreco

Ronda Giangreco, journalist, author and motivational speaker, was diagnosed with MS in 2008. Seven years ago Ronda returned from her latest adventure at a cooking school in Italy and was ready for her next undertaking. Shortly afterwards she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and was faced with re-evaluating her life. The diagnosis was particularly poignant as her mother-in-law had died from complications due to MS.  An avowed “foodie,” Ronda turned to her passion to help her overcome the new challenges she would have to face living with a chronic disease. Her book, “The Gathering Table:  Defying MS with a Year of Pasta, Wine, & Friends”, shares one woman’s journey of fortifying her spirit through the healing power of cooking, community and camaraderie.
