    3. Law Help/NY

      LawHelp/NY is an online tool for helping low-income New Yorkers solve their legal problems. It is the only comprehensive source of legal referral information in the state and includes: free legal service organizations with their contact & intake information, "Know Your Rights" and self-help resources covering 15 areas of law, extensive links to social service, advocacy and government organizations, and information about the legal system.

    4. New York Legal Assistance Group

      NYLAG provides free civil legal services to New Yorkers who cannot afford a private attorney.

    5. The Legal Aid Society

      If you are in need of legal assistance and live in New York City, please call 212-577-3300 to receive information in English and Spanish how to access our services. The Legal Aid Society provides free legal services to low-income New Yorkers in the five boroughs of New York City in the areas of housing, immigration, benefits, family law, employment law, criminal defense, child protection and juvenile rights

For more than 40 years there program of legal services offices located in low-income communities and transportation hubs throughout New York City has provided free, high quality, legal help to people who have nowhere else to turn.
