Ashlie Clark

Pasadena, TX

As a teen at Sam Rayburn High School in Pasadena, Ashlie Clark spent much of her time focused on excelling with her schoolwork and accelerating her pitch at her softball games. At 14, Ashlie was already being pursued by Division 1 universities, and she made plans to play softball in college while getting a degree in Public Relations. But in 2011, Ashlie’s right side of her body quit responding leading to her MS diagnosis. After her own ordeals in the hospital where she had to relearn how to walk and eat, Ashlie has determined a new path for the rest of her life. “My focus has changed from making lots of money as a Public Relations major to making lots of smiles as a Child-life Specialist,” she says. “I want to be a part of changing a young patient’s life.” Ashlie is attending the Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, to gain her Bachelor’s in communications, hoping to serve as emotional support for kids in the future
