After losing eyesight in her right eye for three weeks, Charnyce Dorman was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in May 2013. While she thankfully regained her eyesight, Charnyce was put on medication and has since suffered from three other MS-related episodes. Throughout it all, Charnyce’s positive spirit has not wavered, choosing instead to focus on the on the bright future ahead of her. “Since being diagnosed with MS, I have had to make some changes in my life, adjusting to the daily shots, listening to my body and being able to tell when something isn’t right,” she said. “I’ve had my struggles with MS, but every day I learn a new way to cope with it.” Charnyce aspires to graduate in the top ten of her class and attend the University of Houston, where she will study under the Conrad N. Hilton College of Restaurant and Hotel Management. Additionally, she wants to become a CPA and own her own restaurant.
