Pearsall, TX

Madelyn Villareal, a Pearsall High School graduate, was introduced to multiple sclerosis seven years ago when her mother was diagnosed. As a high school student, Madelyn was involved with cheerleading, varsity tennis, marching band, and the honor society. Now, she wants to go to the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio where she will major in biology. The fortitude her parents exhibit while dealing with the ups and downs of MS has been passed along to their daughter. “My family has always instilled in me that having goals and the ability, strength, and courage to reach them are very important,” she says. “It is through her, my mother, that I have seen that no matter what obstacles or worries life throws my way, as long as I have the faith and drive to move past it, nothing can stand in my way.”
