Socorro High School graduate Sarah Garcia has dealt with her MS symptoms since she was 11 years old. The disease took away her ability to play sports and made everyday activities like hanging out with friends extremely tiring. “It can also be a struggle for people to understand what I have since it physically is not noticeable at times,” Sarah says. Although she may not be able to defeat the mental and physical problems of MS, Sarah plans to tackle the disease in her own way by studying to become a physical therapist at Texas State University in San Marcos. “I admire what they do, and I would love to help people such as myself and others (who are) disabled,” she says.
