To act as a MS Ambassador and representative of the National MS Society, you must be well educated, informed, and up to date with what is going on in the world of MS. The MS Society staff will work to equip you with the information and resources needed to successfully educate, engage and encourage others to join the movement to create a world free of MS.
MS Ambassador trainings and workshops are held in person at the Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, and Metairie offices. These sessions aim to educate MS Ambassadors on MS and the Society, as well as provide MS Ambassadors with informational materials to share with their respective communities.
Information and details about mandatory trainings and workshops will be e-mailed to active MS Ambassadors and potential MS Ambassadors who have filled out the MS Ambassador Interest Form.
Once engaged and active, MS Ambassadors have the opportunity to take their volunteer service to the next level and become a Community Health Representative (CHR.)
What does a CHR do?
Develop and strengthen relationships between health-care providers and the National MS Society
Educate and promote Society programs and services, our advocacy agenda and fundraising events to area physicians, their staff and other health-care providers
Work with health-care providers to increase the number of people affected by MS referred to the Society for help and services
Interested volunteers will take additional training courses to become a Community Health Representative. Please download and read the Community Health Representative Overview and contact Gail.Lindsey@nmss.org if you are interested in this opportunity.
