Overview:

The Client Relations Specialist will serve as an early point of contact for people newly diagnosed with MS, welcoming them to the National MS Society and helping to determine their needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish foundation for relationships with new clients, focusing on customer service, by contacting those that have reached out to the MS Society for information and assistance
  • Serve as a resource for people newly diagnosed with MS, clients transferring from a different chapter, etc.
  • Document all client interactions for auditing purposes and to ensure customer needs are met
  • Education and Support
  • Customer Service Certification Training
  • Altair Accounts Management Training
  • Staff Partner will be available (in person or via phone) for ongoing support to ensure proper delivery of services to clients
Qualifications & Time Commitment
  • Client Relations Specialist must have been diagnosed and living with multiple sclerosis for at least the past two years
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good judgment and respect for client confidentiality is extremely important
  • Be able to navigate effectively and record call notes correctly in Altair
  • Calls can be made: evenings before 8pm, weekends between 11am-5pm, weekdays 11am-8pm
  • Volunteer Specialists will be asked to commit to a 6 – 12 month term, a minimum of two hours a week. Most work can be done at either the local NMSS office or at the volunteer’s home.

  • Engage and educate people newly diagnosed with MS utilizing all available tools.
