Overview and notes

A wide variety of measures have been used in clinical studies of MS. Provided here is information about many of those most frequently used. Each measure includes a brief description, administration time, administration method, scoring method, general comments, information on the psychometric qualities of the measure, and literature citations. In addition, where possible, the actual forms needed to utilize the measure are provided.


Notes
These measures are organized using the World Health Organization's International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health. The three major categories in the WHO system are

  1. impairments of body functions and body structures
  2. activity limitations and participation restriction
  3. environmental factors
