Sandy Carter is a member of the Pennsylvania Government Relations Committee and District Activist Leader. Following her diagnosis of MS in 2003, Sandy devoted her free time to MS activism and to her Bike MS team, “Team Carter.” Having attended four Public Policy Conferences since 2003, Sandy has become a go-to resource for fellow activists in her area. Last spring, Sandy and her fellow MS activists led an initiative that successfully enacted an MS Awareness Proclamation in Chester County, Pennsylvania, for MS Awareness Week.

Sandy says, “Attending the Public Policy Conference and working as an MS Activist has given me the education and tools that I need to support myself and others with MS. I say it all the time: knowledge is power.” As a high school math teacher and lacrosse coach, Sandy has found new and creative ways to raise awareness for MS in her own community. Last spring, Representative Ryan Costello met with Sandy at the East Goshen Park Walk MS event. Sandy has had the opportunity to meet with Representative Costello in Washington D.C. (during the Public Policy Conference) and in her hometown during Congress’ August recess, but his attendance at Walk MS help open his eyes to MS in the community.

Join Sandy as an MS activist today.
