2010 - Marjorie Schulz

Ohio Valley Chapter Founder Marjorie Schulz dedicated 62 years of her life to the MS Movement. Founder, fundraiser, board member and lifetime volunteer of the Society, Marjorie created a resource in the Cincinnati community for people living with MS before multiple sclerosis was acknowledged, accepted or understood.

Even before joining the national organization, the chapter provided programs and services, while also building a community of local support. Marjorie organized walks to raise funds to support the organization long before fundraising was a common practice. Walkers walked from house to house collecting donations and educating people about MS. The MS Walk was the primary source of revenue for the organization in its’ early years. In 1952, the Ohio Valley Chapter joined the National MS Society – and as Marjorie once described, “we never looked back.”

The Ohio Valley Chapter lost their most treasured piece of chapter history this past April. Help us honor and remember Marjorie Schulz, Founder of the Ohio Valley Chapter, for her lifelong dedication to the MS movement.
