Share

Overview

This 50-minute exercise program demonstrates exercises designed to improve balance and reduce your risk for falls. The exercises are divided into the following five components:

Before you begin

  • Please discuss with your healthcare provider before beginning any exercise program.
  • To get the most out of this program, we recommend that you participate all of the exercises in sequence at least 3-4 times per week.
  • Perform these exercises in a cool, well-ventilated environment. Wear breathable clothing and use cooling devices as needed to prevent overheating.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking water before, during and after the workout.
  • Plan flexible rest breaks in between exercise components to avoid excessive fatigue or overheating.
  • Your symptoms may change from one session to the next. Listen to your body and adjust the frequency, intensity and duration of the exercise program accordingly.
  • If the activity aggravates an existing symptom, you should stop, rest or modify the activity.

  • When a workout is no longer challenging, we recommend that you gradually increase the intensity and duration of the workout to improve strength and endurance.
