Adaptive Yoga Workshop for Multiple Sclerosis
Featuring Karen O'Donnell Clarke
Yoga combines breathing with movements that can alternately stimulate or calm the body. Yoga helps people who have MS increase body awareness, improve muscle tightness and range of motion, increase balance and manage stress or tension. Because Yoga is relaxing and noncompetitive, it is especially recommended for people with MS.
The Alabama - Mississippi Chapter along with Karen O'Donnell Clarke held a two day workshop on May 29 & 30 for Yoga Instructors and MS patients interested in learning Yoga. Each person with MS received a personalized consultation with a certified Yoga Instructor and went home with a practice or technique based on the consultation.
