Self-Help Group Information

Self-help groups for individuals with multiple sclerosis and their families meet monthly. The meetings may be social, educational or recreational groups that offer emotional support and information exchange.

Trained, peer leaders facilitate the groups and are supported by the Alabama - Mississippi Chapter staff through annual training sessions and updates to their leader manuals.  Self-Help Groups provide an opportunity to meet with others who can offer insight, feedback and support about living with MS.

These groups allow you an opportunity to share common experiences and concerns, give and receive emotional support and obtain MS related information from your peers and guest professional speakers.
