“Amazing Race” Host Phil Keoghan Rides Through Denver During His 3,500 Mile “Amazing Ride” to Support Multiple Sclerosis

DENVER – Hundreds braved inclement weather at a rally held by the Colorado Chapter, National MS Society, for Phil Keoghan, host of the CBS hit series “The Amazing Race,” as he departed from Southlands Mall Shopping Center Saturday to continue his 3,500-mile “amazing ride” from Los Angeles to New York.

During “Phil Keoghan of the Amazing Race Rides Across America Presented by GNC Live Well”, Keoghan is participating in National MS Society Bike MS rallies to raise awareness and funds for MS. Denver was one of 30 cities he is visiting during his 40-day ride. “Phil is extremely committed to raising awareness of MS and to raising funds for the MS Movement during this amazing ride,” said Carrie Nolan, president, Colorado Chapter, National MS Society. “He has a cousin living with MS and is very aware of the impact this disease has on the person as well as their family, friends and peers. Phil also rides in Bike MS and recognizes the quality of our rides across the country. We are extremely appreciative of his commitment to do this amazing ride to support MS.”

“Bike MS is the premier fundraising cycling series in the nation and funds raised from the 100 bike rides, held throughout the country, support programs and services provided by Chapters of the National MS Society, as well as research that will one day lead to a cure and a world free of MS,” she added.

“Colorado’s Great-West Life Bike MS Presented by Sam’s Club will be held June 27th and 28th this year. Our ride begins at Front Range Community College in Westminster and goes to Colorado State University in Fort Collins and back and is open to all levels of cyclists. We provide numerous rest stops along the route to ensure the safety of our participants and host festive receptions with great food, music and massage tents in Fort Collins and at the end of the ride to add to the enjoyment of our cyclists and their families.

“Opportunity to cycle in our ride has sold out the past two years, so we have initiated a “virtual ride” as an added way for people to participate this year. Whether people donate to Phil’s ride, participate in our ride, support a cyclist or participate virtually, the result helps us support our MS community, while moving us closer to a cure,” she emphasized.
