DENVER – The Colorado-Wyoming Chapter, National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society announced a new support and social group specifically designed for people living with MS and their caregivers.
The Fremont and Custer County MS Self-Assist & Social Group will meet monthly and provide a forum for sharing strategies and tips for enhanced living with MS in a confidential, reassuring group setting. Each group meeting will be led by a peer trained as a Self-Help Facilitator who will discuss topics of interest and provide Information on the spectrum of services provided the Society.
“This support group provides a comfortable social setting for meeting with others who share similar life experiences,” said Carolyn McGrady, the Chapter’s regional program manager for Southern Colorado. “The meetings will also provide educational tools necessary to better manage life with MS.”
The first ‘get acquainted’ meeting will take place from 10 a.m. – noon, Thursday, June 14 at Carl’s Junior restaurant, 502 E. Main St. in Florence. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Ongoing meetings of the group will take place from 10 a.m. – noon on the second Thursday of each month.
