Keynote Speaker: Michelle Theall, Women's Adventure Magazine
Michelle Theall started Women’s Adventure magazine in 2003 as the only women’s specific adventure sports and travel title on newsstands worldwide. Just as the first issue hit the press, Theall was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). The shock left her questioning whether or not she should produce a magazine covering activities in which she might no longer be able to participate. However, she forged ahead and the magazine quickly won accolades, including the Folio Award for editorial excellence and being named one of the top 30 best launches by Mr. Magazine.

MS stops people from moving. The National MS Society exists to make sure it doesn’t. This simple statement has brought clarity and purpose to the many faces of MS. Wendy always says, “I want others with a chronic illness to go find their own mountains.” She has made this mission her life goal, and by telling her story she hopes to raise awareness of MS, inspire those who are suffering and raise funds to find a cure.
