Alexandra Markovitz , Aurora
Alexandra is a graduate of Eaglecrest High School. She lettered in her dance company at school for three years, was a youth group leader for two years and has been a dance instructor for Encore Dance since 2003.
It is her passion for dancing that has helped her fight the effects of MS on her life. Diagnosed at 16, an MS exacerbation caused her to experience near paralysis on the left side of her body and double vision. This made dancing next to impossible. According to Alexandra, her “perseverance, faith and strength along with physical therapy, medication and prayer has helped her do everything she used to be able to do and even some things better.”
Alexandra maintains a positive outlook on life and plans to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
