Olschan Named 2009 MS Corporate Achiever
STAMFORD, Conn. – The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter has named Stamford resident Jacqueline Olschan, Esq., a 2009 MS Corporate Achiever – one of only 30 business leaders to be named this year.
| Jacqueline Olschan |
Olschan, who is an associate attorney with Sandak Hennessey and Greco, L.L.P. located in Stamford, received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in English from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., in 2000 and her Juris Doctorate degree from New York Law School in New York, N.Y., in 2003. She joined Sandak Hennessey and Greco in 2003 where she practices in the fields of zoning, land use development and real estate law.
“I became active with the National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter when one of my oldest and dearest friends was diagnosed with MS several years ago,” said Olschan. “Involvement has been so rewarding. Since participating in fundraising events as guests and also as committee members, we’ve made lasting connections with others dedicated to the fight. Through it all, I have also learned a great deal about this unpredictable illness and how to emotionally support those who live with MS every day. I am honored to be a member of this tremendous organization, which is such as vital part of our local community.”
Established by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter in 2000, MS Corporate Achievers is a recognition program honoring some of Connecticut’s most influential leaders while at the same time raising critically needed funds to ensure ongoing scientific research and provide for the continuation of vital programs and services offered by the chapter to the more than 6,000 Connecticut residents diagnosed with MS. Honorees are nominated by their peers and selected by an advisory council for outstanding contributions to business, civic and cultural enrichment. Through participation, honorees join an elite leadership network sharing a commitment to making Connecticut a better place in which to live. Since 2000, honorees have raised more than $600,000 to help end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.
Olschan is a longtime supporter of the National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter and other civic and nonprofit organizations. She has served on the MS Dinner of Champions planning committee and the March into Spring Women Against MS Luncheon planning committee since 2007. Olschan is also currently a member of the Stamford Chamber of Commerce and sits on its development committee. She is also a member of the Fairfield County Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association and the Executive Women’s Golf Association, serving on the Rally for the Cure tournament committee.
“Ms. Olschan is truly an effective leader within the law practice to which she is affiliated and the community at large,” said Lisa Gerrol, Connecticut Chapter president. “She is committed to raising funds in the fight against MS and devoted to ensuring quality of life for people with multiple sclerosis and other disabilities.”
