Loparco is a human resources manager with AmeriCares, a nonprofit international relief organization based in Stamford. Prior to her affiliation with AmeriCares, Loparco served with Converium Reinsurance of North America from 1998 to 2007.

“I want to support the National MS Society and its mission to end the life altering effects of multiple sclerosis,” said Loparco. “Multiple sclerosis affects not only the lives of those who are diagnosed but also their families and even their communities. We need a cure for this disease.”

Established by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter in 2000, MS Corporate Achievers is a recognition program honoring some of Connecticut’s most influential leaders while at the same time raising critically needed funds to ensure ongoing scientific research and provide for the continuation of vital programs and services offered by the chapter to the more than 6,000 Connecticut residents diagnosed with MS. Honorees are nominated by their peers and selected by an advisory council for outstanding contributions to business, civic and cultural enrichment. Through participation, honorees join an elite leadership network sharing a commitment to making Connecticut a better place in which to live. Since 2000, honorees have raised more than $600,000 to help end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.

Loparco is a longtime supporter of the National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter and other civic and nonprofit organizations. She is actively involved as a member of the MS Dinner of Champions planning committee, a Walk MS volunteer and a Bike MS participant. Loparco has been a member of the board of trustees for Domus, a Stamford-based nonprofit organization offering structure and support to vulnerable youth through charter schools and residential and community programs. She is also involved in Raise The Bar, an organization providing financial grants to individuals who are struggling financially due to serious illness, such as multiple sclerosis.

“Ms. Loparco is truly an effective leader within her organization and community at large,” said Lisa Gerrol, Connecticut Chapter president. “She is committed to raising funds in the fight against MS and devoted to ensuring quality of life for people with multiple sclerosis and other disabilities.”
