The Windsor ride was led for a third consecutive year by grand marshal and WTNH News Channel 8 anchor Darren Kramer, a Madison resident. Mike Stacy, a WRCH Lite 100.5 personality, marked his 20th year of riding in his familiar yellow as captain of the Banana Bike Team.
Planning is already underway for the 2010 Bike MS event, which will take place on Sunday, June 6, 2010, at Griffin Center in Windsor and on Sunday, June 13, 2010, at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.
More than 6,000 Connecticut residents are affected by multiple sclerosis, a potentially debilitating disease affecting the central nervous system. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot be predicted.
Funds raised by the National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter, through events, such as the Bike MS, ensure ongoing scientific research to find better treatments and a cure, as well as to provide vital programs and services offered by the chapter to those in the state living with multiple sclerosis.
