Fundraising Tips

The National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter receives numerous inquiries each year from individuals and organizations wishing to stage their own fundraising events to help in the fight against MS. These “third-party” events, often dedicated to a loved-one battling MS, are run independently from the chapter by interested volunteers.

Suggested events can include:

  • Golf Tournaments
  • Basketball Tournaments
  • Wine & Ale Tastings
  • Irish Festivals
  • Pig Roasts
  • Poker Tournaments
  • Motorcycle Rides
  • Auctions
  • Marathons
  • Read-a-thons
  • Fishing Tournaments
  • Pub Crawls
  • Concerts

Getting the word out about your event is key to success. The most successful events feature community appeal. The Connecticut Chapter Communications Department can assist you with publicity for your event through news releases disseminated to your local media outlets and beyond. The Communications Department can also provide you with helpful tips for creating effective marketing materials, spreading the word, components for attracting media event day and much more.
