MS Motorcycle Ride

Welcome to the MS Motorcycle Ride. This page features volunteers’ frequently asked questions and volunteer job descriptions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?
Pants, jeans or shorts and sneakers. Check the weather that morning to make sure you’re dressed appropriately. Don’t forget the insect repellent and sunscreen.

When should I arrive?
You should arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled volunteer shift. This will ensure enough time to park, check in and locate your volunteer station.

Where do I park?
Parking is available at Cadillac Ranch, 45 Jude Lane, Southington, CT 06489.

Where do I go when I arrive to volunteer?
Please check in at the volunteer registration table located in the front parking lot.

What if it rains? 
The ride takes place rain or shine. Our riders depend on our volunteers to make things run smoothly. Please dress appropriately and remember to bring a rain poncho and umbrella, as well as a change of shoes and socks.

Will food be available?
Each volunteer will receive a food wristband at volunteer check-in. Please ensure that another volunteer is covering your position while you eat lunch.

Accessibility
Cadillac Ranch is ADA accessible and there are ADA accessible bathrooms on the grounds.

Volunteer Job Descriptions:

Event set-up
Help set up tables, chairs, signs, food, trash barrels, supplies and any items specific to that area.
Time commitment: 6:30 to 11 a.m.

On-site check-in
Process people who are registering or checking in for the ride by collecting money, passing out materials and providing change.
Time Commitment: 6:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Greeters and information
Assist people by directing them to the proper registration area, answering questions and helping with crowd control. A 15-minute group training session will be given upon arrival.
Time commitment: 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Greeters at finish line
Check rider’s wristbands and sell wristbands to non-riders.
Time commitment: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Event clean-up
Aid with any clean-up such as folding tables, stacking chairs, tearing down tents, redistributing and reloading leftover supplies into trucks, cleaning and trash removal specific to that area.
Time commitment: noon to 3 p.m.

Food volunteers
Monitor food line, serve food and beverages to riders and volunteers, replenish supplies as needed and keep area clean of trash and debris.
Time commitment: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Parking
Direct participants and volunteers to appropriate parking lots upon arrival.   
Time commitment:  Cadillac Ranch 8:30 to 11 a.m.

Raffle
Sell tickets throughout Cadillac Ranch and assist the raffle committee as needed.
Time commitment: 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. or noon to 3 p.m.
