Dinner of Champions to Honor Gator Veteran

 The National Multiple Sclerosis Society North Florida Chapter will honor Chris Patrick, University of Florida Assistant Athletics Director- Sports Health and Athletic Trainer. In the Spring of 2010, we will celebrate his forty years of service in the UAA and his commitment to the Gainesville area. Chris will receive the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s highest recognition award; the Silver Hope Award. Proceeds from the Dinner are used to provide programs and services throughout North Florida and to continue research conducted nationally to create a world free of MS.

The cocktail party and dinner will be held on Saturday May 8th, 2010 at the University of Florida Touchdown Terrace at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville. The National MS Society Dinner of Champions made its’ debut in 1972, founded by Howard Cosell and Frank Gifford, and has grown in stature, sophistication and acceptance across the country over the years. The first Dinner of Champions in North Florida took place more than 20 years ago and honored Florida State University Football Coach Bobby Bowden. Since then, the chapter has honored Champions such as Dr. Fran Kinne, Jacob Belin, Mark McCumber, Mort and Delores Kesler and Carl and Rita Cannon, the Winn Dixie Family, Miller Electric, Hugh Jones, Peter Bragan Sr. and Jr. of the Jacksonville Suns, Commissioner Tim Finchem and the PGA TOUR, Florida Rock Industries and more recently Reynolds, Smith and Hills, Harden and Associates, Wachovia, Hugh Green and Baptist Health and John Delaney and University of North Florida. The MS Dinner of Champions is the MS Society’s premier leadership campaign, honoring the country’s top leadership and raising just over $12 million nationally last year.
