HOWARD ZWIBEL, MD
His peers have elected him to the Board of Governors of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers. The American Academy of Neurology appointed him a Counselor for the formation of the MS Section of the Academy and he was elected as the first Chairman of its Practice Committee.
After completing five years of post medical school training in Internal Medicine and Neurology, he served as a physician in the United States Air Force and entered the private practice of Neurology in 1973. At Baptist Hospital he was elected Chairman of the Department of Medicine, a Staff Officer and member of the Medical Board. He served on the Board of Trustees of the Historical Association of South Florida and chaired its Fellows Committee. He also was a member of the Board of Directors of Project Mosaic and a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Pennsylvania Dade Alumni. For many years he was on the voluntary faculty of the University of Miami School of Medicine attaining the rank of Voluntary Professor of Neurology. Dr. Zwibel has authored numerous articles on the clinical aspects of Multiple Sclerosis and its treatment. He lectures frequently throughout the United States and abroad and is active in developing Continuing Medical Education programs related to current approaches regarding MS.
With his wife of 46 years, Linda, Dr. Zwibel resides in Coral Gables. They are the proud parents of two children and are currently enjoying two grandchildren.
