"It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no (person) can seriously help another without helping (themselves)."
--Charles Dudley Warner, American Essayist, 1873
The sense of isolation that often accompanies a diagnosis of MS can seem devastating. But with 52 MS support groups meeting monthly throughout northern and central Illinois, help is never far away. Below you will find a regularly updated list of the Greater Illinois Chapter's MS support groups.
Attending an MS support group makes it much easier to connect with others facing similar challenges related to MS, make new friends and build personal networks of support, and find information about MS-related resources available in your local community.
The Chapter's support groups are led by a diversity of volunteer facilitators, many of whom live with MS and some of whom are licensed health or social work professionals. Most support groups are open to anyone living with MS, their families, friends, and care partners. Some groups provide specialized for care givers, young adults, and young professionals.
Browse the list below to find an MS support group near you. The list is organized by city, and gives meeting days and times and contact information for group facilitators. Please contact the facilitator of the group you wish to attend to learn where the group meets. Groups geared towards care givers, young adults, and young professionals are clearly noted.
