August 27, 2013- WICHITA, KS. Join the National MS Society and view our new space at a great location on September 4 from 4-7 p.m. The National MS Society’s local office has moved to Downtown Wichita and is thrilled to be a part of the area’s energy and ongoing development of the area. “We look forward to the public awareness that this move brings with neighbors such as the Public Library, Intrust Arena and Wichita’s Water Walk,” said Kari Rinker, Community Development Manager.
Join us for an open house with appetizers and free tours of our new and improved space, during this time Bike MS cyclists will also be able to turn in fundraising dollars and pick up their Bike MS packets while connecting with community members. “The new downtown location provides us with greater visibility, which will allow us to reach more people living with multiple sclerosis and their families,” Rinker said. “Reaching more people impacted by MS will bring awareness of our educational programs, financial aid and health navigation services provided to people living with this disease. This visibility will also provide our organization with new community partnerships and connections, creating increased participation in our fundraising events, such as Walk MS and Bike MS. The money raised from these events are crucial toward our organization’s continued funding and leadership in cutting edge research, which continues to improve the lives of people with MS and will one day eradicate it entirely.”
Representatives from the Chamber of Commerce will stage a formal ribbon cutting at 4 pm. Nearly 190 cyclists who will be riding for a world free of MS on September 7 &8 can also turn in fundraising dollars and collect materials in preparation for the 2013 Bike MS: Autumn Trails Classic Ride.
This is a great opportunity to connect with community members, individuals affected by MS and Bike MS cyclists. Drop by anytime and connect with others from 4-7 p.m. at 110 E. Waterman, Ste 150, Wichita, KS 67202. For questions contact the MS Society at 1-800-FIGHT-MS, press 2.
