We address the challenges of each person whose life is affected by MS.

The So. Central and Western Kansas Office is committed to providing vital support and services to the many thousands of individuals living with MS, their families, friends, and colleagues in our chapter area. These goals are achieved through national and local programs that:

  • Inform and educate people with MS and their families, professionals, community leaders and the public about multiple sclerosis.
  • Provide support programs that help people with MS and their families manage the impact of the disease.
  • Help people gain access to community resources and quality, specialty health care.
  • Stimulate changes in the community and public policy beneficial to people affected by MS.

Newly Diagnosed
It can be difficult to hear the words “you have MS” for the first time. When you are newly diagnosed you will find that you have many questions about what this diagnosis means for you, and how it will impact your life and the lives of your loved ones. There are many challenges, but there are also many supportive options available to help you.

Education
There are many ways to learn about MS. The chapter offers education programs and resources on the medical, social and psychological aspects of MS. Learn about upcoming teleconferences or recorded teleconferences.
 

Support
The So. Central & Western Kansas Office offers local self help groups to enhance the quality of life for people living with MS. Check with the local office for a support group near you, or one of our online or teleconference groups.
 

Wellness and Exercise
Take care of yourself physically and emotionally.

Caregivers
People who care for a loved one with MS may do so in many ways. If you are a caregiver, you may find some of these resources beneficial.
