Annual Meeting 2008 Program Volunteers Award Recipients
NATIONAL MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SOCIETY
LOUISIANA CHAPTER
ANNUAL MEETING AWARDS – FY 08
Each year a few individuals stand out from the rest. These volunteers have given countless hours of their time to support our mission by helping hands-on with events, the day to day tasks in our office, and/or client programs. We would like to give special thanks today and every day to these volunteers for their commitment.
Key Volunteer – Chapter Programs, Ray Lauga
Ray’s service and dedication to our clients has been instrumental in our reaching a higher level of client assistance. Ray offered his professional legal services by assisting clients in need with pro bono SSDI application processing and other counseling as needed. He attended two of our Client Assistance Days this year. Ray is always willing to help whenever we call and we are so grateful to him for all his assistance.
Key Volunteer – Chapter Programs, Lillie Leonards
Lillie is a certified Reiki practitioner. Reike is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation. Lillie volunteers her time and talents as a Reike practitioner at our MS Getaway weekend. She also recruits some of her friends and fellow professionals to volunteer their time.
Excellence in Foundation Giving and Support, Bayou MS Foundation
The Bayou MS Foundation has been an amazing resource for our chapter’s financial assistance program. Through the money raised by their annual Health Fair and other contributions, our chapter has been able to assist our clients with medical bills, equipment, medications, utility and crisis assistance, etc. The Bayou MS Foundation has donated $40,000 over the last two years. We appreciate their continued support and look forward to working together again this coming year.
