Peer Support

The Peer Support program matches people who are living with MS (Peer Support Volunteers) with others who have MS or one of their family members. The common bond of the disease creates a unique connection. The Peer Support Volunteer helps others to grow and develop in their adjustment to MS with the goal of personal empowerment. All sessions with a Peer Support volunteer are conducted by telephone. All calls are confidential in accordance with the National MS Society and the Louisiana Chapter’s confidentiality policy:

Each peer support volunteer has an obligation to safeguard the confidentiality of personal information and shall not disclose in an individually identifiable way any information about a particular person without the person’s expressed written authorization.
