May 4-8, 2009
Since May 2006, the inns, restaurants, shops and other businesses in the picturesque mountain village of Jackson, NH have been opening their doors and their hearts to welcome hundreds of people who are living with MS and their guests for a few days of rest, relaxation, workshops and social events. This annual week-long event, in collaboration with the Central New England Chapter, is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to couple MS education with a mini-vacation.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do I register for MS Week in Jackson Village?
Registration will be open January 1 - March 16, 2009. Email or flyer notices are sent out to National MS Society members in the New England area (ME, NH, VT, MA, RI & CT) and beyond in January of 2009.
The National MS Society Central New England Chapter will be handling the registration of all participants. You should not call the inns directly. You can reach the Central New England Chapter at 1-800-344-4867, ext 192 or msweekinjacksonnh@mam.nmss.org beginning in January 2009.
Due to high interest in this program, attendance for the FREE 2 night weekday accommodations is chosen by a lottery system. Past participants can enter their names into the lottery every other year. For example: Participants from last year's MS Week in Jackson Village are not eligible to enter the lottery for the 2009 week. If you entered the lottery last year and were not chosen, you may enter the lottery for 2009.
Participants from the previous year or others wishing to guarantee registration can do so by purchasing an extended-stay package. A two-night weekend minimum stay is required. Those purchasing extended-stay packages will automatically be registered for the adjoining FREE two-day session during MS Week in Jackson Village. (For example, if you purchase a package for the Saturday and Sunday prior to MS Week, you will be registered for the Monday-Wednesday session.) Please note: If you cancel your extended-stay package you forfeit your registration and will not be eligible to keep the FREE room or participate in the activities during the week. See below for extended-stay package rates.
Registration for the lottery and extended stay packages will begin in January 2009
2. What is a session?
The week is split into 2 weekday sessions: Monday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Friday. You can arrive and check-in between 3:00 and 9:00 pm on the first day of your session. On the second and third day of each session there are workshops in the morning and social events in the evenings. Workshops and social events to be announced at a later date. You will check out late morning of the third day.
3. If the rooms and breakfast is provided, what are the other costs?
Participants are responsible for providing all other meals. Participants will also be responsible for costs associated with activities outside those planned by the National MS Society (i.e. Society sponsored lunch, dinner and evening entertainment).
A $75 refundable deposit will be asked of all participants. This deposit will be returned, or donated to the National MS Society as requested by the participant, upon attendance. Deposits will not be refunded to participants who cancel after the determined deadline or are a no-show during the event.
4. What if I want to bring a friend/my mother/brother/father/sister/child…..
The program is for a person with MS and one guest. The guest must be 18 years or older. Because of the nature of the Inns and the number of people interested, you will be guaranteed only one room. We will try our best to accommodate those who would like more than one bed, but there are no guarantees. Please be prepared to share! Children are not permitted during this program. Please find alternate child care situations.

Outside of MS Week in Jackson, some of these Inns are family- and pet-friendly. During MS Week in Jackson only certified service dogs will be permitted.
6. Are the inns handicapped-accessible?
Many of these inns are older properties with limited levels of accessibility. However, we do have access to multiple first floor rooms and several handicapped-accessible rooms for people with those needs. When you register for the program, the MS Society staff will ask you specific questions about your mobility needs. Other businesses in Jackson have varying levels of accessibility; participants will be provided with that information. Locations for all workshops, entertainment are handicapped-accessible.

You must be present for an entire session to participate in the program. This also applies to Extended Stay packages.
