Administrative Volunteers

Administrative volunteers are the support system that helps every part of the Maine Chapter run smoothly. Administrative volunteers assist with projects in the office on the computer, over the phone, preparing mailings and assembling materials.

Join Martha O'Grady, long time chapter volunteer. Here's Martha's story!

MEM_Martha O'Grady

Martha O’Grady has been volunteering for the Maine Chapter about 20 years! She first came to the Chapter through RSVP and because her cousin had MS. She has since learned that several of her good friends from high school have MS or have a family member with MS…so the cause has been a good match for her. When asked why Martha keeps volunteering each week…she smiles and says, “Dedication, and I feel like I am useful. It is important to me that the organization I volunteer for is accomplishing something important. I feel the National MS Society does that.” When asked for any pearls of wisdom, Martha thought for a moment and then said, “If you are bored with life, go out and do something. Volunteering is a great thing to do. It gives you a lot to look forward to. It helps you get out of bed. Makes you feel useful. The benefits go both ways.”

Thank you Martha for your 20 years of dedication to the Maine Chapter. You are an inspiration to all of us!
