Bike MS Ride, Fall Breakaway!

The Michigan Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is excited to announce that in addition to their Mountain Bike Event on September 12th they will be offering a one day road ride.

The routes have been designed to offer something for everyone of all cycling abilities. If you are looking for a flat, easy ride then try the12 mile route located within Island Lake Recreation Area or the 24 mile route that will take you into Kensington Metro Park and allow you to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.  Looking for something more challenging? Then try out the 45 mile route that will take you out around the GM proving grounds in Milford and up what some riders affectionately refer to as “Mt. Kensington”.  The original mountain bike route is on unpaved trails of 5 and 9 miles that you can ride all day between 9am and 3pm. All routes start and finish at the Dodge Pavilion at Island Lake Recreation Area. Check in opens at 8:30am and the routes open at 9am.

Bike MS Rides are open to individuals 13 years of age and older and the routes are fully supported offering a great experience for everyone.

Proceeds benefit the Michigan Chapter of the National MS Society. The National MS Society addresses the challenges of each person whose life is affected by MS and helps them stay connected to the moving world.

MS stops people from moving. The National MS Society exists to make sure it doesn’t. We help each person address the challenges of living with MS. In 2007 alone, through our home office and 50 state network of chapters, we devoted over $136 million to programs that enhanced more than one million lives. To move us closer to a world free of MS, the Society also invested over $50 million to support 440 research projects around the world. We are people who want to do something about MS NOW.
