MS Society mourns the passing of former Michigan Chapter President, Patricia McDonald

With great sadness I share the news that our former Chapter President, Pat McDonald, lost her battle with lung cancer and passed away this past January.

Pat served people with MS for more than 25 years in our Chapter initially as Programs and Services Director and then for more than 20 years as Chapter President. A strong advocate for services for people with MS, Pat was a devoted friend and mentor to many of us.

The Chapter will be happy to forward condolence cards and emails to Pat's family. Please send them to my attention at the Chapter offices: 21311 Civic Center Drive, Southfield MI 48076 or via email: info@mig.nmss.org .

Make a Memorial Gift in Honor of Pat McDonald.

Our room will be climate controlled. No previous yoga experience is necessary. If a caregiver is regularly required, they must be able to attend class with you to assist.

Please contact instructor before registering for this class.

As a service and courtesy to you, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Michigan Chapter, wants to inform you of this opportunity. However, we want to be clear that the NMSS has had no role in developing the physical activity for this program.

Camp Independence

There is a place on the shores of Lake Superior that is well known to many of us at the Michigan Chapter as Camp Independence. Consider making this the year you decide to attend.

Every year, for one week, Bay Cliff Health Camp in Big Bay, Michigan, opens its doors to adults with disabilities. It allows them to experience all of the joys and freedoms of a camp while living in an environment that allows and encourages independence. Imagine fishing, boating, cook-outs, sing-a-longs, hikes and all of the rest of the camp experience available to each of you, regardless of physical limitations.

If all of this has piqued your curiosity, then give Bay Cliff a call at 906-345-9314 to request an application or to find out more information. The dates for Camp this year are August 23-29, 2009. The cost is $250.00. Once you are accepted to camp, youcan request a partial scholarship from the Michigan Chapter to cover part of the cost by calling 800-344-4867, option 1.
