MS Awareness Week
Stay tuned to see pictures and video of the events that took place during MS Awareness Week. If you have pictures, video or stories of you Joined the Movement please send them to info@mig.nmss.org.
This year the Michigan Chapter has many events and activities planned to help bring awareness to multiple sclerosis, as well as ideas that everyone can participate in, no matter where you live. Please help bring awareness by participating in one of the activities listed below, or choose to come up with something original. Please share your photos or videos to show us what you did to help create a world free of MS. Email info@mig.nmss.org
On Monday, March 2, we will be painting car windows with the MS Logo. To find out more about this exciting activity and what you can also do to join in the fun.
On the lot of our office in Southfield, 21311 Civic Center Dr., we will be painting car windows with the MS logo (in washable window paint). If you would like to have your windows decorated to help bring awareness to MS, we will be available from 10am-2pm. If you are unable to stop by, but would like to participate in this activity, download the stencil HERE, buy some orange window paint or window markers, (available at many party supply stores or online), and join in the fun.
Tuesday, March 3, brings in Wear Orange Day. See what you can do to bring awareness to MS on this special day.
With our official color being orange, we are asking everyone to help bring awareness to MS by wearing something orange. If you don’t have anything orange, wear an MS t-shirt, sweatshirt, or even a pin to let everyone know you are involved in the movement to create a world free of MS. If we’re lucky, some tv anchors will be joining in to celebrate this special day by wearing something orange too.
Also on Tuesday, March 3, will be an independent community MS Awareness Week event in Pontiac. To find out more and how you can participate, CLICK HERE.
Wednesday, March 4 will bring “Orange Ya’ Gonna Join the Movement?” Staff and volunteers will be delivering oranges, along with a MS Awareness card to legislators in the Michigan Senate and House of Representatives in Lansing, as well as other community leaders throughout the state. This year also marks the first-ever Federal MS Awareness Week Resolution that will be read on the floors of the US House and Senate in support of MS Awareness nationwide. On Thursday and Friday, March 5 and 6, “Move it. 24 Hours Against MS” will take place at Peter Nielsen’s Fitness in Southfield. We will be biking (exercise bikes, that is) for 24 hours straight and need YOU to keep the momentum going! To find out more, CLICK HERE.
